Toni Morrison. Ralph Ellison. Kurt Vonnegut. You know, they were all eleven once. Every writer has to start somewhere, and one of the many wonderful programs at our award-winning Flint Public Library helps our young writers do precisely that!
Please join the Flint Teen / Tween Writers Workshop as it publishes its 2019 anthology of student writing, titled Expectations, Reality, and Brunch. Students will read aloud from their work, and free copies of the anthology will be available for guests. The reading will be followed by an open-mic for any young writer aged 18 and under. Light refreshments will be served.
The Teen / Tween Writers Workshop is a safe and supportive space where young writers read and critique each other’s work, challenge each other to create their very best writing, and explore their love of literature. The program is free and meets every other Tuesday during the school year, from 4:30-6 PM at the library, 1026 E. Kearsley St., Room 204. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 24th. Call 810.232.7111 to register, or just drop in!
